1837

On 6 July 2011, in Still Life, by Petra

Close-up picture of an old book lying with bound partially falling apart and the numbers 1837 as series number visiable

This picture was taken in the library of Charleville Castle near Tullamore in Co. Offaly. This time it was a photowalk organised only via and for people on the Boards.ie Photography forum. It is an annual event and for me the second time I joined. We get basically full access and on the other hand support the renovation of the castle which is done completely by volunteers.

I wasn’t too sure what to expect going there again – other than the social aspect of these photowalks. But it was actually very good and interesting for photography too. As I knew the castle I had an better idea what I found interesting and looked at everything in a different way. So I am quite happy with my results but this one was my favourite from the beginning and still is. In this case I nonetheless link to my full set on pix.ie.

As I don’t have a macro lens I got close up lenses instead and in this case I used the +10 on my 18-55mm lens.

Really, really like this one Petra, took me a moment to realise it is a book. Really super shot, I feel I can almost feel & smell the book.
